About this job
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Health Care Assistant (HCA) to join our care team. In this role, you will provide high-quality, person-centred care to our residents, supporting their health, independence, and overall wellbeing in accordance with relevant care standards, duty schedules, and safe practice. You’ll work both independently and as part of a team to deliver care that upholds the dignity, comfort, and privacy of our residents.
• Deliver daily cares including assistance with hygiene, grooming, mobility, nutrition, and toileting needs. • Implement person-centred support plans, respecting individual preferences and cultural needs. • Work collaboratively with clinical staff and communicate changes in resident health or behaviour. • Respond appropriately to vulnerability, risk, or signs of abuse and escalate when required. • Maintain accurate, timely, and informative documentation and handovers. • Adhere to infection control, hygiene, and safety protocols at all times. • Support residents with activities that promote independence and wellbeing. • Assist with meals, laundry, light cleaning, or kitchen duties where needed. • Attend staff meetings, contribute positively to team culture, and participate in ongoing training. • Uphold resident rights, privacy, and the facility’s values and policies
Job Requirements
Have a Full Class 1 Licence and own reliable transport due to the shift start times Pass Drug Tests and Police Vetting checks
• A caring and empathetic nature with a genuine interest in the wellbeing of older adults. • Physically fit and able to manage the demands of a care role. • Good verbal and written communication skills. • Able to work independently, use initiative, and adapt to change. • Committed to ongoing professional development and training. • Understanding of ethical, professional, and cultural responsibilities within aged care.
- Days of work
- 4 days on / 2 days off. Shift times: 8am-4pm, 4pm-12am or 12am-8am. You will be notified about your roster 2 weeks in advance. (35 hours per week)
