Directional Drill Operator

Drury based employer is looking for a Directional Drill Operator to work all over Auckland and may also need to travel out of Auckland from time to time. You will need to operate directional drilling rigs and associated equipment to install underground utilities and infrastructure with a high degree of accuracy. Utilise advanced locating devices to precisely identify the position and depth of underground assets during drilling operations. Interpret and follow underground utility plans and drawings to ensure safe and compliant drilling activities. Collaborate with the broader construction team to coordinate drilling schedules and project timelines. Maintain detailed records of all drilling activities, including depth, location, and any encountered obstacles. Perform regular maintenance and pre-operational checks on all drilling equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. Digging around services to prepare a drill path including potholing and backfilling.
Job Requirements
Minimum 2 years experience in Directional Drilling in the construction industry. Proven expertise in the operation of directional drilling rigs and associated equipment. A valid Class 2 drivers licence. Thorough understanding of underground utility plans, drawings, and safety regulations. Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills to navigate and overcome challenges during drilling operations. Excellent communication and Health & Safety driven. Must be able to dig around the services with Excavator and prepare drill path. Must be physically fit, this role requires lots of hands-on work duties. Be prepared to work around road reserves and under various weather condition. Available to work all over Auckland and travel out of Auckland from time to time.

- 7am to 7pm Monday to Friday Flexibility to work weekends May need to work out of Auckland from time to time (35 hours per week)
