Seeking a BFC Mentor - a Financial Mentor (Budgeter) for a well-established Charitable organisation that provides support with budgeting advice and financial capability. Our client is looking for someone who is very experienced and can handle complex cases, also help with kiwisaver, debt negotiation with companies and banks. You will work directly with individuals and families facing financial hardship. You will guide them through budgeting, debt management and building financial skills for long-term stability. Provide one to one financial mentoring, including budgeting advice, advocacy and financial capability coaching. Maintain confidential records, liaise with creditors, service providers and community partners on behalf of clients, facilitate sessions, participate in supervision, meetings and training opportunities. Support culturally responsive practice in all aspects of service delivery. You will also be a good facilitator of workshops. Essential: * Completion of or working towards FinCap Financial Mentor training. * At least 5 years work experience in financial mentoring or related fields such as credit control, budgeting services or community support. * Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and work in a non-judgemental strength-based manner. * Knowledge of the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi and commitment to working effectively with Maori and Pacific communities. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and confidence in using client management systems. Desirable: * Experience in accounts, budgeting or credit control roles. * Understand financial pressures facing low-income families and how to support them sustainably. * Knowledge of community services and support systems across Tamaki Makaurau.
