As a Bar Attendant, you will play a vital role in creating a welcoming and enjoyable environment for all guests. Your responsibilities will include:
Greeting and Seating Guests: Warmly welcoming patrons, escorting them to their tables, and presenting menus. Product Knowledge & Promotion: Providing information about menu items, daily specials, and current promotions. Customer Support: Assisting with guest inquiries and requests to ensure a seamless experience. Order Management: Taking food and beverage orders accurately and communicating them efficiently to kitchen and bar staff. Beverage Service: Preparing and serving a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Compliance & Safety: Ensuring all service and operations comply with New Zealand liquor licensing, gaming regulations, and health and safety guidelines. Problem Resolution: Handling guest complaints or concerns in a professional manner and striving for positive outcomes. Payment Handling: Processing payments, operating the cash register or POS system, and issuing receipts. Cleanliness & Organisation: Maintaining a clean, organised, and presentable bar and front-of-house area. Team Coordination: Collaborating with the kitchen and service staff to ensure timely and high-quality service delivery. Exceptional Service: Delivering a high standard of customer service to ensure a memorable guest experience.
Job Requirements
LCQ Certificate (Licence Controller Qualification) – or willingness to obtain one Flexibility with Availability – able to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required Clean Ministry of Justice (MoJ) Record – for compliance and safety purposes Hospitality Experience – previous experience in a bar, restaurant, or customer-facing hospitality role Strong Communication Skills – confident, friendly, and professional with guests and team members Ability to Work Under Pressure – stays calm and efficient during busy service periods Cash Handling & POS System Knowledge – accurate and reliable with transactions Team Player Attitude – cooperative, reliable, and supportive in a team environment Well-Groomed Presentation – maintains a tidy and professional appearance Understanding of NZ Liquor Licensing Laws – or willingness to learn and comply
