Laundry Assistant

Cairnfield House is a privately owned, caring Rest Home and Hospital located in beautiful Whangarei. As part of our dedicated team, you will play a key role in supporting our residents' comfort and dignity.

We are currently seeking a Laundry Assistant to join our hardworking and compassionate team. This role involves delivering high-standard laundry services to our residents, including the cleaning, drying, folding, and ironing of clothing, linen, sheets, towels, and more.

You’ll ensure the laundry area is kept clean and organized while taking care to return personal clothing to the correct residents and delivering fresh linen throughout the home.

Key Responsibilities:

Carefully wash, dry, fold, and iron residents’ personal clothing and linen Ensure residents’ clothing is returned promptly and respectfully Operate commercial laundry equipment safely and efficiently Maintain a tidy and hygienic laundry environment Monitor linen supplies and alert your manager to replenishment needs Ensure proper separation of clean and soiled laundry Adhere to infection control and health and safety procedures Treat all residents with dignity, kindness, and respect

Desirable (but not essential): Previous experience working in a commercial laundry or similar environment Understanding of infection control or willingness to learn
