Concrete Labourer

An East Tamaki business is looking for Concrete Labourers who are keen to work as soon as possible. The business focuses on Commercial Warehouse work. No experience required as training can be provided, though previous experience is an advantage.

In this role you will learn and perform: -Levelling and screeding with screed board or vibrating screed to level and smooth the surface. -Remove imperfections and bring finer particles to the surface. -Trowelling for a smooth surface using either hand or power trowels -Edging to prevent chipping -Cut contraction/control joints using task specific tools -Help conduct tests on fresh and hardened concrete, such as slump tests, air content tests, and compressive strength tests -Assist in monitoring concrete pouring, curing, and finishing processes -Learn to operate and maintain testing equipment under supervision. -Accurately document test results and observations for review by senior technicians -Follow safety procedures and industry standards in all tasks.

The ideal applicant will have: -Willingness to learn and develop skills in the concrete industry -Basic understanding of construction materials. -Good attention to detail and ability to follow instructions. -Physical ability to work in a construction environment

Depending on the job, you could be working 6 days a week, Mondays to Saturdays, and be willing and able to travel outside of Auckland and NZ as the business has had contracts for work in Australia and Fiji for instance. This is a '90-day Trial' role, which will lead to permanent contract for the right employees.

1- have Full Class 1 driver licence and own vehicle to make own way to sites. 2- Site Safe Foundation Passport- Building Construction card is essential. 3- be very physically fit as the work can be demanding and the hours long. 4- be willing and able to work the stated hours - can be arriving onsite ready to pour concrete at midnight or be working through to late in the evenings. 5- Have a valid Passport and be willing and able to travel outside of Auckland and NZ - travel expenses covered. 6- be drug free in order to pass regular random testing 7- any Criminal convictions are to be disclosed, and will be considered case by case.
