Orchard Worker

Employer is seeking an enthusiastic Orchard Worker to join their team in Meeanee, Napier and Haumoana, Hastings. This full-time, permanent position and will involve hands-on work maintaining and caring for their thriving organic orchard, with a focus on ensuring the highest quality produce. As an Orchard Worker, you will play a crucial role in contributing to the success of our family-owned business. What you'll be doing • Tractor driving • Operate and maintain orchard machinery and equipment • Crop spraying • Winter pruning • Hydralada operations • Compliance with Global Gap and Bio Gro Organic standards • Collaborate with the wider team to optimise orchard productivity and efficiency • Perform general farm duties, such as irrigation, site and machinery maintenance • Record keeping

To be successful for this role you must: • Have a minimum of a restricted licence • Own reliable transport • Pass pre-employment police and drug test • Have an up-to-date CV with references • Experience in a similar horticulture or agricultural role • Strong practical skills • Ability to operate a range of horticultural machinery and equipment • Keen attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality • Good physical fitness and the ability to perform manual labour tasks in various weather conditions • Excellent communication and teamwork skills • An understanding and appreciation of organic farming principles and practices
