Truck Driver - Class 5

Seeking Class 5 Truck Drivers for longhaul driving. Trucks are curtain siders, manual, 18 speeds and carting general freight outside of Auckland such as Hamilton, Whangarei, Wellington and other locations as per the customers requirements. Some Auckland based work as well. Duties will include to ensure that the truck is loaded appropriately and material is recorded correctly. Ensure all loads comply with NZTA requirements. Complete logbook accurately and in timely manner. Ensure Road User Charges RUC, Registration and COF are up to date. Maintain and regularly inspect company vehicle for safe operations. Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations. Drivers need to drive the trucks as per the rules and regulation to the designed destination. Must be available for early mornings, late evenings and weekend shifts. Willingness to travel long distances and stay overnight when required. Work on a rotating shift schedule for day and night. Trucking experience in New Zealand is preferable with a minimum of 1 year's experience. Strong knowledge of road transport law and regulations. Experience in truck maintenance and basic mechanical troubleshooting is beneficial. The hourly rate is dependent on experience. The hours ranges from 30+ hours.
