Kai Rescue Coordinator
About this job
We are looking for someone to lead the team to alleviate food poverty and reduce food waste in the Nelson Tasman area, through working with businesses and organisations and continuing the development of the food rescue service into a reputable and sustainable food rescue organisation. You will be managing and developing donor and recipient relationships: ● Overseeing the logistics of food collections, sorting and distribution. This involves food safety, storage solutions on site, ordering consumables, monitoring our systems for getting rid of waste food. ● Leading, supporting and managing a team of approximately 50 volunteers alongside three part-time drivers. This includes rostering, inductions and training for volunteers, managing team dynamics. ● Supporting with hands-on operations when required ● You will have a mentoring style to manage and support volunteers, implement structures for onboarding, training and motivation. Job Requirements
You will need: Excellent written and communication skills. ● Strong organisational, management and relationship building skills. ● Team management and leadership skills. ● Ability to problem solve and prioritise tasks, including delegation of tasks and excellent time management skills. ● Computer skills (competence in Google Suite or willing to learn) ● Ability to operate within a budget. ● An understanding of the concept and philosophy of sustainability and a good working knowledge of environmental issues is desirable.

- 20 to 25 hours per week. Flexibility required to meet the needs of the programme. (25 hours per week)
