Community Support Worker
About this job
Provide safe, person-centred support which is consistent with policy and values and within legal and ethical frameworks. Enabling Good Lives for the people we support by gathering information to assist with making informed decisions & person-centred plans with a focus on their voices and choices. Enable people we support to participate in leisure activities, sports, recreational, and community activities according to their individual support plans.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Keeping the home clean, tidy, and hygienic to maintain a safe and welcoming environment. - Supporting the people we work with to be involved in planning menus and cooking meals together. - Making sure there are enough food and household supplies, and encouraging participation in grocery shopping. - Providing personal care when needed – this may include showering, dressing, shaving, toileting, feeding, and support with medication.
What You Bring:
- A good understanding of the Enabling Good Lives principles Lived or professional experience in a caring or support role. - A genuine passion for people – you’re kind, patient, and friendly. - You enjoy being active – things like walking or bike riding are a plus! - You bring professionalism, honesty, and are a reliable team player. - You’ve got energy, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude, especially when working as part of a team. - Comfortable with providing personal care, including showering and dressing, when needed.
Job Requirements
Full NZ Driver Licence as part of your role you will be driving a company vans. A NZ Certificate in Health & Wellbeing or commitment to working towards a qualification
- Days of work
- 80 hours per f/n Mon to Fri 8am until 4.30pm Some flexibility may be required on these days (40 hours per week)
