Barnardos and the Ministry of Education deliver the Intensive Wraparound Service (IWS) which works with students who have complex behavioural needs (which may include intellectual impairment).
We are currently recruiting for two permanent positions based in Auckland. One will be based in North West Albany and the other at Botany.
Key Responsibilities: Orient students and family/whanau to the wraparound process and provide coordination of key team members. Support the development of a plan with agreed outcomes for the family/whanau, and monitor and record the progress of these outcomes. Develop and maintain strong and collaborative relationships with the family/whanau, Ministry of Education Learning Support and other groups to ensure a coordinated wraparound service. Produce timely and accurate documentation to support the Intensive Wraparound Service.
Job Requirements
A tertiary qualification in social work or other relevant qualification. Proven experience working with children, families/whanau and Maori and Pacific communities. The ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities. Excellent communication, organisation and meeting facilitation skills. Resilience and a clear understanding of your own self-care needs and when to practice them. A clean, full NZ driver’s licence (travel across the region will be required).
