Herd Manager
About this job
An Inglewood farmer is looking for a herd manager to assist with feed planning, applying fertiliser and managing irrigation. Managing the health and welfare of cows and calves including milking and feeding. Identifying mastitis and sick animals. Perform general duties like fencing, pest control and maintenance of farm machinery. Ensuring all herd records are maintained. Work with the farm manager to contribute to the farm business plan. Need to be motivated and keen with a good attitude, reliable and a hard worker. Some training available 11 days on and 3 days off, min 30 hours but usually 40 hours weekly Pay between $25 and $35 depending on experience. Interested? Job Requirements
- minimum of 2 years farming background ESSENTIAL - able to drive a motorbike and tractor - can handle stock safely for yourself and the animals - able to pass a drug test - no criminal record (minor convictions can be discussed one on one) - full licence preferred (restricted minimum) - physically fit - farm accommodation provided NO PETS
