An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Kohanga Reo in Lower Hutt. We are looking for a highly motivated Kaiawhina to join our dedicated team and whanau.
This role is perfect for someone passionate about nurturing mokopuna through kaupapa Maori and committed to the vision of Te Kohanga Reo.
Ideally, the successful applicant will:
• Be fluent in Te Reo Maori me ona tikanga • Be passionate about the kaupapa of Te Kohanga Reo. • Work effectively within a team environment. • Be committed to training and development through Te Kohanga Reo pathways. • Have a genuine passion for teaching and engaging with Tamariki. • Be flexible and adaptable to the daily needs of the Kohanga. • Provide support and guidance to other kaimahi on their Te Reo Maori journey. • Understand Te Whariki a Te Kohanga Reo and be familiar with To Korowai – Kaupapa Maori Assessment for Learning. • Be a confident communicator with good leadership qualities.

Job Requirements
• Be fluent in Te Reo Maori me ona tikanga. • Be able to play the guitar (for waiata and tamariki engagement). • Has computer knowledge. • Must be able to pass pre-employment MOJ check.
