About this job

We’re looking for a compassionate, reliable Support Worker to join our team in a residential care setting in Newtown, Wellington.

This role involves: • Assisting with personal cares (male/female), including showering, toileting, and changing bedding • Supporting residents with daily routines and personal lifestyle goals • Promoting community involvement (e.g. teaching how to use public transport) • Grocery shopping and meal preparation for a household of 6–7 people • Maintaining infection control and cleanliness, especially during illness/isolation periods • Administering and prompting medication in collaboration with GPs and pharmacies • Completing daily paperwork and participating in ongoing training • Ensuring safety (self, residents, equipment, and household)

Job Requirements

Requirement of the role:

You must have a full driver’s licence, preferably with a first aid certificate and be confident and responsible behind the wheel.

Experience with vulnerable people is required and a common-sense, caring approach are essential.

Must pass MOJ, Police, Drug and Alcohol checks.

Days of work
35-40 hours per week. Variety of shifts, day or night. 24/7 and 365 days including some weekends and nights. (35 hours per week)
