Join our Tapawera based hop garden employer this season and be part of a hardworking, safety-focused team helping prepare the vines for a successful harvest! We are looking for motivated and reliable workers to join their Hop Stringing Crew in Tapawera, located in the stunning Tasman region. This is a fantastic opportunity to work outdoors in a rural setting and contribute to one of New Zealand’s iconic agricultural industries. Available Roles: 2x Hop Stringers (Working at Height) You’ll be working from a tractor-mounted cage, tying twine onto overhead wires. This role requires a good head for heights, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely as part of a team. Full safety training provided. 2x Ground Crew (Twine Feeders) Based on the ground next to the tractor, you'll be feeding twine down into wire hooks in the soil. You'll work closely with the crew above to keep the job flowing smoothly. 1x Tractor Operator We’re seeking an experienced and confident tractor driver to operate the tractor for the stringing crew. You must be able to drive unsupervised, follow farm safety procedures, and assist with positioning the cage as the team strings the rows.
Job Requirements
What We’re Looking For: - Physically fit and safety-conscious individuals - Able to work at heights (for cage roles) - Good communication and teamwork - learn to tie hop twine onto wire - work as part of a team, and follow safety rules. Tractor Operator: Must have proven experience and confidence operating machinery
Own transport preferred - transport not provided Some accommodation options may be available - discuss with employer Contract rates apply Tapawera – 15 mins travel from Tapawera 4 square to farm
