Baker Assistant

Are you passionate about baking and looking to start or grow your career in a busy, hands-on bakery environment? We’re on the lookout for motivated Baker’s Assistants to join the team in Marshlands!

Key Responsibilities: • Assist in gathering and preparing bakery ingredients (flour, sugar, butter, etc.) for daily production. • Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients accurately according to recipes. • Wash, peel, slice, and dice fruits, nuts, and other fillings for pastries and baked goods. • Help cut, shape, and prepare dough for bread, rolls, and pastries. • Remove baked goods from ovens and ensure they are cooled and stored/displayed appropriately. • Clean and sanitize workstations, baking tools, and equipment regularly. • Organize and store ingredients, utensils, and finished products correctly. • Monitor stock levels and alert the Baker or Supervisor when supplies run low. • Adhere strictly to food safety, hygiene, and workplace regulations at all times. • If required, assist Front of House with customer service.

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. • Enjoy interaction with people and good customer service skills. • Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety and cleanliness. • Physical stamina – able to stand for long periods, lift baking supplies, and handle equipment. • Willingness to follow instructions and be a supportive team player. • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test, Ministry of Justice Check and have 2 contactable references. • Must be able to work on weekends (Saturdays and Sundays)
