About this job

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Urban Liaison Officer to join our team in supporting the community and maintaining a strong safety presence within the city.

In this operational role, you will play a key part in implementing targeted safety interventions, building meaningful relationships with local residents and businesses, and addressing safety concerns in a coordinated, proactive manner.

As an Urban Liaison Officer, you will be instrumental in delivering the goals of the City Safety Plan and ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support community initiatives and foster positive relationships between residents, businesses, and local authorities. • Maintain a visible and approachable safety presence throughout the city. • Implement safety interventions that are tailored to specific community needs and concerns. • Proactively address safety issues by collaborating with stakeholders and community members. • Build trust and rapport with local residents, offering support and addressing their concerns. • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of safety initiatives, providing feedback to relevant teams and partners. • Assist in the delivery of the City Safety Plan, contributing to city-wide safety goals and objectives. • Act as a point of contact for safety-related issues, providing guidance and resources as needed.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build meaningful relationships. • Previous experience in community engagement, safety, or related fields is an advantage. • A proactive and solution-focused mindset, with a commitment to addressing safety concerns. • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups, including residents, local businesses, and authorities. • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. • Knowledge of urban safety challenges and the ability to implement appropriate interventions.

Days of work
Sun-Wed 7am-8:30pm and Thurs to Sat 7am-10:30pm – rostered times within this with 2 consecutive days off. (40 hours per week)
