A vibrant children’s playland in Hamilton is seeking a friendly and reliable Cafe Cook to join its team as the cafe reopens following a full refurbishment. The cafe serves fresh, seasonal meals and high-quality coffee, all prepared with care and attention to detail. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, community-focused setting and has a passion for delivering consistent, tasty food in a welcoming atmosphere.

Role Overview: The Cafe Cook will be responsible for preparing and cooking breakfast and lunch dishes, maintaining a clean and efficient kitchen, and supporting smooth day-to-day operations. This person will play a key role in creating a positive dining experience for families and guests.

Key Responsibilities: • Prepare and cook a variety of menu items to order, following recipes and portion control standards • Keep the kitchen clean, well-organised, and compliant with food safety regulations • Store and handle food in a safe and hygienic manner • Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth and timely service • Open or close the kitchen as required

• Previous experience in a cafe, bistro, or similar kitchen environment • Ability to thrive in a busy, fast-paced atmosphere • Excellent time-management and multitasking skills • A team-oriented attitude and strong communication skills • Passion for quality food and customer satisfaction • Experience working with children or in family environments is advantageous • Weekend availability is essential • A Vulnerable Children’s Check is required • Top-half uniform provided • Must pass a drug and MOJ check
