Barista (Part Time) - Christchurch Airport

We're looking for a passionate and experienced Barista to join our team at Fly Thru Cafe, located at Christchurch Airport. In this role, you'll be responsible for crafting exceptional coffee, delivering outstanding customer service, and maintaining a clean and welcoming cafe environment.

Prepare and serve espresso coffee to a high standard, including grinding, extracting, and milk texturing. Operate the coffee bar, including stocktaking, ordering, and daily reconciliation. Deliver warm, professional customer service and respond to guest needs promptly. Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the coffee bar, equipment, and public areas. Follow Compass Group's food safety, health, and safety procedures at all times.

A team player who can also work independently with a proactive, can-do attitude. Previous experience in a similar barista or cafe role, ideally in a high-volume setting. Strong communication and time management skills with a customer-first mindset. Physically fit, reliable, and committed to maintaining high hygiene and presentation standards. Preferably holds a LCQ or DM Certificate or willing to obtain Holds or is willing to obtain a Police Clearance, NZQA Level 2 or 3 Barista Certificate, and NZQA Food Handling Certificate Unit 167.
