Orchard Pruner's

Employer is seeking Orchard Pruner’s to join their team across various locations in Hastings. The Orchard Pruner is responsible for pruning fruit trees to maintain tree health, optimize fruit production, and shape tree structure according to orchard management practices. This role is physically demanding and requires working outdoors in varying weather conditions. Duties will include: • Prune trees using hand tools (loppers, hydraulic loppers, hand pruners, saws) or powered pruning equipment - A ladder or hydralada is used to reach the top of the trees. • Follow pruning standards and instructions provided by the Orchard Manager. • Remove dead, diseased, or excess branches to promote healthy growth and high-quality fruit. • Identify and cut back shoots, water sprouts, and other unwanted growth. • Maintain cleanliness and organization in work areas, including tool maintenance. • Report any signs of pest infestation, disease, or tree damage. • Work safely and follow all company safety procedures and protocols.

This is a physical role, so applicants must be fit and of able body. Some transport maybe provided.

To be successful for this role you must: • Have no physical limitations • Ability to climb ladders and move orchard ladders • Minor convictions are on a case by case basis • Drug testing may apply • Experienced is preferred
