We are seeking a motivated Industrial Painter/Blaster to join our team within a well-established heavy engineering environment. We specialise in all areas of heavy fabrication, construction and installation of structural steel, storage tanks, marine, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, piping systems, shutdown management/ execution and all types of coatings. We have multiple covered fabrication and coating workshops with the latest automated equipment. You will be responsible for operating abrasive blasting and coatings equipment to prepare and apply protective coatings as per the job requirements and specification, and work as directed and maintain all areas in a clean and tidy manner.

Job Requirements
Essential: • hold a Full Class 1 driver licence & Own vehicle to get to work by 6am • Minimum 2 years Industrial Painting / abrasive blasting experience or similar on your CV • Knowledgeable in various standards, coatings and materials, and application methods • Able to read job specifications and drawings • Excellent communication skills (oral and written). • Good planning and organisation skills • Flexible in hours as may need to work days and/or nights. • Pass pre-employment medical and drug test • Any criminal convictions are to be disclosed, and will be considered case by case.
Preferred:
• Level 4 Trade Certificate or acknowledged as a time served tradesman. • NCEA Level 2 or higher • Valid forklift training Certificate or willing to obtain one. • CV and background strongly aligned to the role and its requirements
