An exciting opportunity has been created with the most recent acquisition of dairy land in the Pendarves area to be converted to a 250ha RockitTM and Joli Apple Orchard. Growing on modern structures and utilizing innovative technology and modern systems to enhance productivity and sustainability across the orchard.
This property is situated approximately 27 km (20 minutes) north east of Ashburton and 30 km from Rakaia.
We are seeking reliable and hardworking individuals to assist with various orchard development activities such as planting, irrigation and other developmental tasks. Experience is desirable or transferable from a similar working environment. These roles support the team through the development and production of phases with opportunities to learn and grow in orchard operations.
Development Duties (but not limited to): • Installation of Orchard Trellis Structure - setting up trellis systems, including cabling and wiring. • Tree Training - train tress to orchard trellis structures. • Planting - plant trees to specified depths and spacings. • Machinery Operation - may be required to operate various types of orchard machinery eg hydraladas, tractors, diggers safety and efficiently (training will be provided) • Adherence to Health and Safety Standards - follow all health and safety guidelines to maintain a safe working environment. • Other Duties - carry out any other reasonable instructions from supervisors and management.

Onsite development continues to scale up and as this progresses the requirement for more labour is steadily increasing.
Job Requirements
The ideal candidates need to be • Reliable and hardworking, and must be physically fit. • A Team player with a great attitude and willingness to get the job done. • Capable of handle repetitive tasks and able to follow instructions. • Previous outdoor experience would be an advantage. • Hours of work are listed as a minimum of 40 per week but will probably be greater than this - to be advised.
