Factory Foreman – Waihi

A Waihi-based manufacturing business is seeking a skilled and hands-on Factory Foreman to lead its high-performing production team. This role is key to the success of daily operations, requiring a strong leader who can manage workflow, ensure product quality, and foster a culture of continuous improvement on the factory floor.

Key Responsibilities: • Leads by example, taking an active role in daily production and setting the standard for performance and behaviour. • Supervises and motivates factory staff to achieve productivity, quality, and safety targets. • Provides coaching and mentoring to team members, supporting their growth and boosting engagement. • Collaborates with the Production Manager to plan capacity, schedule jobs, and allocate resources effectively. • Identifies and addresses bottlenecks and inefficiencies to optimize production flow. • Implements lean manufacturing principles to streamline operations and reduce waste. • Promotes a strong team culture centred on accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement. • Ensures factory processes are consistently followed, refined, and well documented. • Maintains a safe, clean, and organised work environment. • Upholds and enforces all health and safety protocols across the team.

Job Requirements

• Proven leadership experience in a fast-paced manufacturing or production environment. • Industry knowledge in windows, joinery, or similar sectors is highly advantageous. • Strong communication and problem-solving skills. • Practical, hands-on approach with competency in using tools and factory equipment. • Demonstrates a commitment to health and safety, quality standards, and team success. • Capable of inspiring, guiding, and holding a team accountable for high performance.

Days of work
Mon-Fri 7am to 5pm (sometimes 4pm finishes, occasional Saturday work if busy) (45 hours per week)
