We’re on the hunt for an experienced and enthusiastic Function & Events Coordinator to join our vibrant hospitality team just outside of Christchurch.
This is a rare opportunity—our current coordinator is heading off overseas, and this sought-after role doesn’t come up often!
In this dynamic role, you’ll be responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering a wide variety of events at our venue — from weddings and birthdays to corporate functions and community celebrations. You’ll take the lead in ensuring everything runs seamlessly from start to finish, with every detail carefully managed to create exceptional guest experiences. If you’re passionate about people, thrive under pressure, and love bringing events to life, this could be the perfect role for you. Key Responsibilities:
Managing all function and event bookings from initial enquiry through to post-event follow-up Communicating professionally with clients, vendors, and internal teams Coordinating with the kitchen and bar for smooth service delivery Supervising event staff and ensuring exceptional guest experiences Building strong relationships with clients—including corporate outreach Assisting with marketing and social media promotion of events Ensuring compliance with health & safety and liquor licensing requirements
Job Requirements
Background in coordinating events, managing hospitality operations, or delivering high-level customer service in a fast-paced environment A natural flair for organisation, detail, and problem-solving Outstanding customer service and communication skills Leadership experience and the ability to work flexible hours A positive, can-do attitude and genuine passion for hospitality Full NZ driver’s licence – as driving the courtesy van will be required at times Able to obtain and hold a Manager’s Certificate as part of the role
