Asbestos Operative-Labourer

Are you a reliable and safety-conscious worker looking for steady hours and rewarding work in a close-knit team? We’re seeking an Asbestos removal labourer to join our Christchurch-based crew.

You’ll play a vital role in ensuring the safe and compliant removal of asbestos from various job sites across the region. We’re after someone who’s hands-on, has great attention to detail, and takes pride in doing the job right – especially when it comes to health and safety.

Key Responsibilities: * Safely remove asbestos materials in line with New Zealand health and safety regulations. * Prepare and seal off work areas to ensure controlled and secure asbestos removal zones. * Handle, transport, and dispose of asbestos waste following strict legal and environmental protocols. * Maintain and service tools and asbestos removal equipment to a high standard. * Drive a van and trailer to and from work sites across Christchurch and surrounding areas. * Follow decontamination procedures meticulously and complete all necessary site documentation.

* Previous experience in asbestos removal or construction/labouring * Full New Zealand driver’s licence (ability to tow a trailer essential). * Strong awareness of workplace health and safety. * Physically fit, reliable, and willing to work in protective gear in sometimes challenging environments. * Positive attitude and ability to work well in a team. * Must be able to pass pre-employment drug test. * Must be able to pass a Ministry of Justice check.
