Paengaroa based employer is looking for winter kiwifruit orchard workers. Daily Tasks Involved in the role: Winter Pruning: This involves selecting and removing of canes in preparation of next year’s crop. Tying Down: This involves securing canes to wires to create an optimal growing environment for kiwifruit. Making Leaders: This involves creating leaders on new vines and is vital in creating good healthy vines for producing great crops.

Work will be in Lower Kaimai, Edgecumbe, Katikati, Te Puke, Maketu, Pukehina and Paengaroa areas. This work involves working above head and shoulder height and being on your feet for long periods of time. Closed footwear must be always worn on orchard, as part of the health and safety requirements. Gumboots are suitable. You will need secure accommodation within daily travel assistance and be able to travel to the various orchards. Experience is not necessary as full on the job training will be given with tools provided if required. Fixed Term starting from 10th June 2025 (approx.) through to the end of September 2025 (approx.)

Job Requirements

Own reliable transport and at least a restricted licence is a must. Minor convictions may be considered on a case by case basis Available to work flexible hours inc. weekends Physically fit and able to work as part of a diverse and multicultural team Covered Shoes are required.
