As a customer service officer you will be a key part of our busy frontline team in whangarei at inland revenue our work is more than tax we help deliver services that support new zealanders

This job isn’t just about numbers you will use your people skills to make the experience better for every customer

You will be the first person our customers talk to helping them understand their responsibilities and get things right from the start

Most of your work will be in a contact centre where you will make and take calls and reply to messages by email and other channels

You will take time to understand each customer’s situation do the research and help them with good clear advice and decisions.

Talking with customers by phone, email, or online to help them with their questions

Listening carefully and showing understanding and patience

Solving problems and finding the best way to support each customer

Working with a team and following processes

Using computers and digital tools to look up information and complete tasks

You’ll do well in this role if you.

Speak and write clearly

Are a good listener and can understand others’ needs

Stay calm and positive, even when things get busy

Can pick up new computer systems quickly

Work well with others and enjoy helping people

Have great attention to detail and like doing things right

Have worked in a call centre or customer service job before (but this isn’t always required)
