Part time Whanau Support Worker - Rotorua

Employer currently seeking a part time Support Worker in Rotorua for our Whanau Support Services. Must be available after 3pm to 6pm and weekends. This role offers 5 guaranteed hours weekly to start, with the potential for additional hours after a few weeks. You will be part of a team who will provide a safe environment where people can develop confidence and new skills, build friendships with peers, and interact with others in the community. You will support people in their home and community to lead fulfilling and meaningful lives to achieve their personal dreams and goals by doing the things they want to do such as going swimming, attending sporting events, arts and crafts, movies, or shopping - the list is endless! Who are we looking for? • People who are passionate about helping others, are kind and understanding. • Prior experience is not essential as full training is provided. • Full driver's license and owning your own vehicle is essential. • Pass all police vetting checks • A desire to support people to learn new skills and achieve outcomes. • Somebody who has the initiative to push people for their goals, is energetic, outgoing, and can think outside the box. You need to be respectful of others thinking, and their way of living life that may be different to your own.
