Gardener Assistant

Waiuku based employer is seeking a reliable and experienced Gardening and Landscaping Assistant to support the gardener in maintaining and constructing gardens and landscapes across multiple locations across Auckland. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with gardening tools and machinery, a strong attention to detail, and a proactive approach to tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the maintenance and construction of gardens and landscapes. Support with planting, plant care, weeding, mowing, and general garden upkeep. Lay down natural turf and install synthetic grass as required. Conduct regular health and safety checks. Operate landscaping equipment, including ride-on mowers. Perform general repairs and maintenance with attention to detail. Load, unload, and transport materials and equipment. Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with clients and team members.

Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in a similar role. Proven experience operating ride-on mowers and other landscaping equipment. Good communication and customer service skills. Physically fit and capable of performing tasks involving heavy lifting and manual labor. Willing and able to work flexible hours, including weekends and early morning starts. Able to pass a drug test and Ministry of Justice background check. Flexibility to work at various locations as required.
