Infrastructure Operators (Class 1, 2 & 4 Drivers)

Frontline Roles – Help Keep Wellington Clean and Safe.

We are currently hiring for multiple operational roles essential to maintaining Wellington’s CBD. Whether you're operating a specialist vehicle or supporting general outdoor maintenance, this is a great opportunity to make a visible impact in your community.

These are full-time, permanent positions (40 hours per week), and we are building a brand-new team to take on the following roles:

1. Sweeper Driver Operator (Class 2 license required) - ON HOLD Take charge of operating our road sweeping vehicles to keep Wellington’s streets clear and tidy. You'll be driving through the city with precision, making sure public spaces are free from debris and grime.

2. Sumper Driver Operator (Class 4 license required) - ON HOLD Operate sump trucks to manage storm water systems and help prevent flooding and blockages. This is a vital role that supports environmental health and public safety. ( class 4 full license is needed)

3. Water blasting Operator - ON HOLD Use high-pressure water blasting equipment to remove dirt, grime, and graffiti from city surfaces. This is a great role if you like physical work and visible results at the end of the day. Some water blasting experience preferred.

4. Litter Bin Operators - OPEN Help keep our public spaces clean and welcoming by collecting waste from litter bins across the city. Entry-level role. You’ll be out and about, making a real difference every day.

5. Supervisor - ON HOLD Lead and coordinate a team of operators and labourers. Ensure daily operations run smoothly, work is completed to a high standard, and health and safety protocols are followed. Proven supervisory experience required.

• Full NZ driver’s licence required for all roles. Restricted license may be considered for some entry-level roles. • Clean Ministry of Justice (MOJ) check is required for all positions (no criminal convictions) • Must be available to work one weekend day per week. • All candidate must have up-to-date CVs and two work references. • The shift begins at the Lower Hutt depot; candidates must be able to travel to the worksite to begin their shift • Work takes place in Wellington’s CBD
