Stevedore

This is a busy, hands-on, permanent part-time role, so if you like physical activity and want a workout while you get paid, this could be for you! From securing containers on ships to warehousing and distribution, this is your chance to apply your proven skills within a supportive and friendly team. Something About You First and foremost, you will be someone who is fully focused on safe work practices and the care of cargo. You have a minimum of 2 years’ proven Stevedoring and Warehousing experience, including heavy plant, leadership, and flexi fitting experience within container operations. Other important stuff about you: • You have a high level of physical fitness (the role involves securing cargo on ships and vanning and devanning containers); • You are an experienced heavy plant operator in a Port environment (Container Handlers and Mafi); • You are self-motivated and energetic - you love being busy; • You pay attention to detail, and you hate making mistakes; • You have shift work experience and can work a range of shift patterns/variable hours; • You are reliable and have leading hand experience along with experience leading flexi fitting and de-vanning crews; and • You can provide evidence of demonstrating our ASPIRE values – Accountability, Safety, Passion, Integrity/honesty, Respect and Excellence.

Have a minimum of 2 - 4 years experience and skills in a range of stevedoring container operation roles eg container handlers and mafi operator Experience in deckhand/lashing, leading hand container operations and leading flexi fitting and de-vanning crews. Must have own transport to cover shifts that operate throughout all days of the week at any time day or night. Must be physically fit - this is a physically demanding job. Must pass a drug test with an ongoing random monthly drug test required. Must complete OLA.
