Heavy Machine Operator

Are you an experienced Heavy Machine Operator? A reputable company based in Auckland is seeking experienced Heavy Machine Operators to come and join a dynamic team in the Auckland areas - Waitakere, Mount Roskill, Waiheke Island to assist with new and ongoing operations. Candidates must have extensive experience in operating heavy trucks, excavation operations, directional drill operations. An ideal candidate must have a class 4 License and be able to take and give direction.
Your daily tasks will involve:
* Operate Heavy machinery for installation of underground utility services and conduit, including fiber optic cables and Building Construction * Ensure safety of the public and other utilities underground facilities. * Perform all duties according to prescribed safety procedures and uses appropriate safety equipment. * Setup and cleanup of work site including traffic and pedestrian control. * Read utility locates and Risk Assessments before commencing work.. * Ensure all applicable permits and plans are valid and on site. * Inspect the work that is in progress to ensure that the workmanship conforms to specifications. * Operate vehicles and equipment operations from trucks to other equipment as directed * Perform proper maintenance of drills and equipment’s being operated and note any major repairs on Daily Plant Checklist forms. * Lead teams in the field effectively and efficiently as needed and directed by supervisor. * Assisting your team with work in and out of the machine when required * Lead and work with a team in a dynamic and safe manner * Fill out all required Risk Assessment documents before, during and after work.
Candidate requirements- * Extensive experience with excavators and heavy trucks * Familiar with general road work practices * Preferably a good understanding of underground service. * Ability to pass a drug and alcohol test prior to employment * Have a clean driver’s license Class 4+ Preferred * WTR Endorsements * Comply with health and safety requirements and wear appropriate PPE gear * Ability to write up logs, safety checklist and incident reports * Must be smart phone savvy * Basic first Aid qualifications are an advantage
This position is primarily a Monday to Friday 7am - 6pm role however some Saturday work may be
