Farm Assistant

We are looking for someone who is capable of learning and who has a great attitude to join our team immediately to help with the day to day running of our 600 ha, 430 cow farm, located in Matakohe.

Your duties will include but are not limited to: Milking, stock work, feeding calves, maintaining a clean and tidy work place, weed control, fencing, and basic/general farm jobs. Will need to possess a good level of fitness. We are currently calving 6 on 1 off. Will go to 12 on 2 off in October out of calving.

You don't need to be hugely experienced or experienced at all, attitude is key, and must be able to follow instruction and take direction from the wider team. Must be able to work independently, but also within a team. If you don't know, ask, that's how you learn.

A 2 bedroom cottage is available to rent at a reasonable price well below market value. Must be a good tenant, maintain lawns regularly. Strictly no dogs, 1 cat is ok.

Would prefer a full drivers licence. However restricted is a possibility but would need to be able to sit your full licence.

Criminal convictions will be considered on a case by case basis. Charges involving theft, fraud, violence and assaults, and manufacturing of or distributing illicit drugs, will not be considered.

Monthly pay cycle paid in the first week of every month.
