Assistant Baker

Seeking an Assistant Baker-Pastrycook's Assistant to the Head Baker for a local bakery in Papatoetoe. Duties will include assist in the daily baking and preparation of bakery items. Ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene. Work collaboratively with the Head Baker and the team to meet bakery goals. Learn and develop baking skills under professional guidance. Checking the quality of raw materials and weighing ingredients. Kneading, maturing, cutting, moulding, mixing and shaping dough and pastry goods. Preparing pastry fillings, glazing buns and pastries, and decorating cakes with cream and icing. Emptying, cleaning and greasing baking trays, tins and other cooking equipment, cleaning and restocking workstations and ensuring that all equipment is sanitized and prepared for the next shift. The role is full-time, 30 hours a week, Monday to Saturday and closed on Sundays. This is an opportunity for someone with some experience to learn and grow in this role. * Trainee in bakery with at least 6 months experience. * Great attitude with a friendly demeanour that gets along with others. * Keen and willing to learn and work with the Head Baker and the team. * Strong attention to detail to ensure the baking is done at a high level. * Reliable transport to get to work and be on time.
