We are seeking a dedicated Retail Security Officer to join our team in Christchurch Central, Canterbury. This full-time position is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our retail clients and their premises. As a Retail Security Officer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for customers, staff and assets.

What you'll be doing • Patrolling and monitoring retail premises to detect and deter any suspicious or criminal activity • Conducting regular security checks and reporting any issues or concerns to the management team • Providing a friendly and professional presence to customers and staff • Maintaining accurate records and documentation related to security operations • Collaborating with local authorities and emergency services as required • Adhering to all relevant security policies, procedures and regulations

What we're looking for • Previous experience in a retail security or customer service role, preferably with a security qualification or training • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with customers, staff and stakeholders • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities to handle a variety of security situations • Commitment to providing high-quality customer service and maintaining a safe environment • Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays • A clean criminal record and the ability to obtain any required security licenses or clearances
