Orderly and Maintenance

Outcomes-based service solution to Auckland City Council including open space, waste and sanitation along with hard and soft services under a hybrid self-delivered and sub-contracted model. Reporting to your team leader, as a orderly you will undertake a range of operational labour tasks on public highways, highway verges, public spaces and landscaped areas, including Street Cleansing and Town and City Centre Maintenance. As a member of the sanitation and waste team you will be able to follow simple instructions and plans, to ensure the rapid and thorough removal of litter and other materials throughout Auckland, but also ensure the highest level of attention to the cleanliness and sanitation services. You will also be flexible and be prepared to assist in the management of a 365day service.
Duties/responsibilities include
• To work alone or with other members of the Sanitation and Waste team to undertake general labour tasks, such as removing litter, empty bins, unloading trucks as well as cleaning and washing assets • Operate any plant and equipment as allocated effectively • Complete all tasks set by your colleagues and piers in positive way • To manage your time effectively, to ensure that you attend work regularly, and on time. • Conduct yourself in the manner befitting Ventia ,and our customer • Ensure that all health and safety issues are reported, and that you work safely at all time • General maintenance of the areas mentioned in the job purpose e.g. highway sweeping, clearing of leaves and litter, removal of fly-tipping, fly posting, and graffiti, and emptying of litter bins. • To collect and transport all waste to authorised waste sites. • Clearance to areas and sites of litter, refuse, dirt, furniture, leaves, weeds, animal faeces and animal carcasses. • To make sure the area you are working in are kept in a clean, tidy, well maintained & safe condition • To carry out all tasks in accordance with the advice and guidance provided by your colleagues. • To complete all tasks as asked for by your colleagues. • To wear Company uniform and safety equipment as issued, in the correct way. • To attend any training that is required for you to complete your job effectively and safely. • To always act in the best interests of Ventia and its clients. • To be respectful and interested when your Colleagues are sharing knowledge • The Ventia values are followed at all times, making positive contributions at team meetings and toolbox talks. • Actively create and maintain positive working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. • Maintain Safe and Healthy workplace in accordance with VTNZ HSEQ / ER policy and exercise PCBU responsibility Extra Note: Reporting to depot in Mount Wellington and picking company vehicle to get to Central Auckland location MANUAL CLASS 1 LICENSE IS A MUST Email me please: tilly.karan013@msd.govt.nz
Job Requirements
A good level of physical fitness Full Drivers License - MANUAL CLASS 1 LICENSE Ability to use smart phone applications to monitor tasks and workflows Basic understanding of Health & Safety along with hazard and risk management. Ability to communicate in English
