As a Programme Assistant, you'll be right in the action—supporting games, crafts, sports, cooking, and more. Whether it’s cheering kids on during a group activity or helping them with a tricky craft project, you'll be part of a team that builds confidence, friendship, and fun.
What you’ll be doing: - Supporting kids through engaging daily activities like arts, baking, outdoor games, and science fun - Keeping the space clean, safe, and inviting - Helping manage behaviour in a positive, proactive way - Communicating with whanau and the Programme Manager
5+ hours per week. This roaming role will be rostered mainly during the after school programme hours however there will be possibilities where you will also be scheduled to work during the before school programme hours.
Monday - Friday only After school schedule: From/ Between 2.30pm - 6pm Before school schedule: 7am - 8.30am Holiday Programme hours may be for longer hours (only during school holidays).
Location of work: This is a Roaming Role. You will be rostered to work across our sites within Mangere region (and potentially in Flatbush as well)
Job Requirements
- Experience working with young children—this could be anything from babysitting to after-school care (make sure this is included in your CV!) - Confident, enthusiastic, and love being part of a team - A great team player who brings energy and enthusiasm every day - A good communicator who can build strong relationships with parents and the school community
- Days of work
- Minimum 5+ hours per week. Between the hours of 7am - 8.30am and 2.30pm - 6pm, or as rostered (5 hours per week)
