Pastry cook Assistant
About this job
What tasks would a person in this role do every day? - Assist bakers in various aspects of production, including preparing fillings for pies, cleaning utensils and machinery, decorating and packaging bakery products, etc.. - Serve customers, sell bakery goods, and prepare tea, coffee, and other beverages. - Make sandwiches and filled rolls for sale. - Answer phones, take orders, and perform basic clerical tasks. - Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the bakery area. - Collaborate with other team members to ensure a smooth workflow. Requirements
Job Requirements
Are there any additional job prerequisites? - Minimum of 3 months of experience working in a New Zealand bakery or cafe. - Strong understanding of New Zealand bakery or cafe operations. - Ability to start work early in the morning - A quick learner who can adapt to a fast-paced environment. - Excellent communication and teamwork skills. - Knowledge of sandwich and roll preparation. - Willingness to assist the management team with bookkeeping work when needed. - Hospitality-related qualifications are preferred. - Ability to perform heavy lifting, such as moving flour bags. - Barista
