Youth support worker

A local Rangatahi service provider is seeking multiple Kaitiaki Rangatahi (Youth Worker) to join their team. The primary role involves providing supervised access and minding for children/young persons, promote the personal, educational and social development of children/young persons, respond to the needs and interests of the child/young person and work in a range of environments contusive to their needs. Typical activities include supporting child/young person in various settings, encourage social inclusion, meeting liaising and networking with key stakeholders and working and meeting with whanau to support the child/young person. The ideal candidate will show empathy and patience with a genuine concern for others, ability to relate to children and whanau, communication and negotiation skills, initiative, leadership, written and oral skills, time management, maintaining confidentiality and cultural sensitivity and awareness.
