Dairy Farm Assistant - Howard

Are you ready to roll up your sleeves and be part of a hardworking, supportive rural community? We’re looking for a reliable and motivated Dairy Farm Assistant to join a team of contract milkers on a well-established 650 head of cattle dairy farm in the beautiful countryside of Howard, Tasman.

About the Role: You'll be kept busy with a wide variety of tasks that will keep you engaged and growing your skills, including: - Milking twice a day - Shifting and feeding cows - Calving and calf rearing - Fencing and setting up breaks - Weed control - Shed cleaning and setup - Identifying and reporting sick or injured stock - Other general farm duties as needed

This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys physical work, has a genuine love for animals, and takes pride in doing things well.

The schedule may vary but generally work hours are between 4.30am and go through to 5:30pm with meal and rest breaks. Roster will be 10 days on, 4 days off, which may vary over calving.

A range of vehicles on the farm from utes to tractors and ATV - a full licence will assist with insurance requirements (Class 6 not essential - but is helpful)

About You: - Experience in dairy farming is preferred but not essential – a great attitude goes a long way - Physically fit and willing to work in all weather conditions - Honest, dependable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team - Eligible to work in New Zealand
