A well-established employer in Gisborne is seeking an experienced Hammer Hands to join their construction team. This role is ideal for individuals with strong carpentry skills, hands-on experience in building, and the ability to work effectively within a team. The role involves supporting skilled tradespeople across a variety of construction tasks.
Key Responsibilities: - Assisting with a range of construction and building tasks - Carrying and managing tools and materials on-site - General labour duties and equipment setup - Following and supporting all on-site safety measures - Basic operation of hand and power tools
Job Requirements
- Minimum of a Restricted Driver’s Licence with your own reliable transport. - Basic carpentry skills with at least 2 years of proven experience as a Hammer Hand or Builder’s Labourer - Demonstrated ability to operate power tools, including nail guns, skill saws, and drills - Able to work well within a team environment - Physically fit, with no barriers to manual labour tasks - Must have your own basic tools, including: Toolbelt, Hand tools, Nail gun, Battery pack, Skill saw, Impact drill. - Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test - Criminal convictions will be considered on a case-by-case basis
