Sheetmetal Workshop Assistant
About this job
Sheetmetal Workshop Assistant is required to assist with assembly of HVAC & Sheetmetal products and other workshop general duties, as well as with delivery of work when required. Being a small team, work can be varied, with an opportunity to learn different facets of the business.
Job Requirements
Preparing various components • Drilling holes in parts & assembling products • Assembling parts by screwing, gluing and riveting, crimping, and spot welding components; • Fitting hardware items, such as hinges, catches and knobs, to parts; • Studying drawings and specifications to determine job, material and equipment requirements • Selecting metal, such as stainless steel, galvanised iron, mild steel, aluminium, and checking sizes, gauges and other dimensions of metal against specifications • Marking out metal stock with reference points and lines • Cutting metal stock along guidelines using hand and power shears, guillotines and drills • Shaping and forming cut metal stock into products using folding and bending machines, rollers, presses and hammers; • Fitting and assembling components into final products by welding, riveting; • delivering finished products to clients and or picking up materials.
