About this job

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Civil Construction Operator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will operate various types of heavy machinery and equipment to assist in the construction and maintenance of infrastructure projects. This role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety. Key Responsibilities:

Equipment Operation: Operate heavy machinery such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, graders, and cranes to perform construction tasks including excavation, grading, and material handling. Site Preparation: Prepare construction sites by clearing obstacles, leveling ground, and setting up necessary equipment. Material Handling: Load, transport, and unload construction materials and equipment safely and efficiently. Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and inspections on machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety. Report any malfunctions or needed repairs. Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure a safe working environment. Collaboration: Work closely with other team members, including laborers, supervisors, and engineers, to complete projects on time and within specifications. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance, and any incidents or accidents.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

Experience: Proven experience as a heavy equipment operator in the construction industry. Certification or licensing to operate specific machinery is preferred. Technical Skills: Proficiency in operating various types of heavy machinery and understanding of their functions and limitations. Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects, standing for long periods, and working in various weather conditions. Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail to ensure precision in operations and adherence to project specifications. Safety Awareness: Comprehensive knowledge of safety practices and regulations in the construction industry. Communication Skills: Good verbal communication skills to understand instructions and convey information effectively.

Monday - Friday 7am - 5pm (40 hours per week)

$26-$30 p/h depending on experience
