With the commencement of the Otaki to North Levin New Highway project alongside projected district-wide growth, the Horowhenua district has the potential for significant business and local job opportunities. This role will help maximise the opportunities for both industry and jobseekers. This is a Full-time role on a Fixed Term Contract for 16 Months.

Duties and responsibilities include - Work across industry to identify and understand opportunities and workforce needs and facilitate/navigate access. Work with industry to coordinate training which will lead into direct employment. Collaborate with employers, training providers, government agencies and community stakeholders to develop strategies to address skills shortages.

Skills and experience - Proven experience in results-based project work. Proven ability to be strategic and translate how to plan and execute for outcomes. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain connections. Full clean driver licence.

Job Requirements

Must be able to pass and MOJ Check and Drug Test. Must have a full and clean driver licence. Must have the following - Sound influencing skills and competency Project management experience Sound knowledge of, and strong connections into, the local community Understanding of Te Ao Maori and Te Reo Maori Proven ability to work cross agency and across sector Proven ability to work independently, and collectively to achieve results Planning, organisation and communication skills Strong ability to liaise, advise and coordinate with all partners and stakeholders involved Demonstrated effective communication, engagement and consultation techniques with partners and stakeholders
