About this job
We are urgently looking for an enthusiastic and skilled educator to teach Screen Arts at tertiary level. You will be responsible for teaching practical skills, curriculum development, academic and pastoral support, programme examination and moderation. As a member of the team you will also contribute to other areas of course delivery, e.g., off site productions/project supervisions, and module/course administration and some operational duties.

You should be comfortable working with diverse student cohorts and learners and committed to integrating creative, exploratory practices with technical knowledge in your teaching. Based in Gisborne, you will work collaboratively within a wider course team based locally and with partner institutions in Invercargill.
Key Responsibilities • Deliver high quality instruction in Screen Arts disciplines • Develop and maintain current, industry-relevant curriculum • Assess student work and provide constructive feedback • Mentor students in their creative development • Participate in departmental meetings and initiatives • Contribute to programme examination and moderation.

Job Requirements
Must hold a Full class 1 Licence Must be able to pass a Ministry of Justice check Ability to pass a Drug test.
Essential Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree or significant industry experience in Screen Arts, Film, Animation, Digital Media, or related field. Must have or be working towards a Certificate in Adult and Tertiary Teaching or equivalent. • A tertiary teaching qualification or equivalent • Proven tertiary teaching experience • Current knowledge of industry practices and technologies • Strong portfolio of professional work • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Desirable Qualities: • Knowledge of te reo Maori and tikanga Maori • Industry connections and professional experience • Experience with digital production tools and techniques • Experience of learning management systems (LMS) • Research experience or creative outputs • Commitment to culturally responsive teaching practices
