Industrial cleaner

A Taumarunui based employer is looking for a hygienist/cleaner who is reliable, dedicated and detail-oriented Hygienist/Cleaner to join their team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring their facility meets all hygiene and cleanliness standards, in compliance with relevant regulations (MPI and Health & Safety) and industry best practices. The successful candidate will carry out their day-to-day duties with focus and professionalism.

You will be self-starter who is comfortable in an environment with shifting requirements, and able to pivot and prioritize workloads to ensure our wider team are well supported.

We are offering a full-time position, working a 40hr working week, Monday to Friday. A roster with shift variances may apply from time to time to accommodate cover for other team members on leave.

Key Responsibilities:

- Perform thorough cleaning and sanitation of all areas assigned within the office, site amenities buildings and manufacturing facility, including production areas, equipment, and common spaces. - Laundering services - ensure all uniforms and other items (as required) are cleaned, sanitized, and maintained to meet hygiene standards. - Follow established cleaning protocols and schedules to maintain a high standard of cleanliness. - Ensure compliance with food hygiene standards and the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015. - Handle and use cleaning chemicals safely and effectively, adhering to Health and Safety, and MPI-approved guidelines and standards. - Maintain accurate compliance records of cleaning activities and report any discrepancies or issues to the manager. - Conduct regular inspections with your manager to identify and address any hygiene or safety issues. - Collaborate with other team members to ensure a clean and safe working environment.

Requirements:

- Previous experience in commercial cleaning, preferably in a food manufacturing environment. - Strong understanding of food hygiene practices and health and safety regulations. - Experience with, and ability to handle cleaning chemicals safely and in accordance with MPI standards. - Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness. - Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively on your own and as part of a team. - Positive attitude, motivated and enthusiastic. - Flexibility to work various shifts, including early/late starts, occasional weekend if required. - Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work on-site in Taumarunui, New Zealand. Trustworthy and reliable.
