Paving and Surfacing Labourer

Correctly distribute asphalt, by shovelling stone chips, compacting and spreading of hot asphalt. Safely tripping tail-gate levers to discharge hot-mix asphalt into paving machines. Complete formwork and asphalt reinstatement duties for footpaths, driveways, kerbs, panel replacement and patches in carriageways. Conduct manual mixing, placing and finishing of concrete. Use handheld equipment and operate the tail gate levels to discharge hot mix. Confidently operate a concrete saw and civil equipment. Provide input into tailgate for risk management processes. Abide to health and safety procedures when dealing with bitumen. Conduct general labourer duties in all forms to ensure completion of work. Along the above, you must have knowledge of locating and detecting, underground services.

Must have a minimum of 3 years in Asphalt and Concrete operations in a civil construction setting. Must hold 3 years working on reinstatement and rehab roading project work. Must be able to conduct concrete finishing. Must be competent using a Cable Avoidance Tool (CAT) / Genny4 Locator. Hold strong experience in concrete placing and formwork duties. Must have knowledge of locating and detecting, underground services.
