Heavy Truck Driver

An employer is currently looking for full time class 2, 4 and 5 Truck Drivers to join their team. Drive and operate trucks. Pick up furniture and materials, verify loads for accuracy, and deliver them as instructed. Load and unload cargo. Estimating weights to comply with load limitations and ensuring safe distribution of weight Responsible for basic vehicle maintenance; comply with all safe work practices, policies, and processes at all times. Complete and verify paperwork for accuracy Planning routes and meeting delivery schedules Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions Collect and verify delivery instructions Report defects, accidents or violations Pre-checks of vehicle before each trip – including oil, water, fuel, air pressure levels are in line with road safety and vehicle safety standards Ensure truck is kept clean and tidy Comply with all traffic laws at all times Please email c.v to raewyn.ballantine001@msd.govt.nz

Clean Class 2, 4 or Class 5 Driver Licence OR overseas heavy truck license. 6-12 months of experience in a driving role Physically fit to be able to lift heavy loads manually Ability to handle long distance driving Flexible Work Availability as there will be early morning start, and you may be required to work during weekends and public holidays Ability to deliver the goods to different locations of North Island so overnight stay may also be required (1-2 times in a week) pre-paid accommodation and food allowance will be provided when required for overnight stay Being physically fit (there is some heavy lifting) Have a positive, enthusiastic attitude with a strong results-focused work ethic Time management skills and ability to work unsupervised Strong Health & Safety focus & adherence to all H&S procedures Committed and reliable Pass the drug and alcohol tests No criminal records. DG and forklift required.
