About this job

A Hope apple orchard is seeking winter pruners for work beginning early June and finishing mid-September.

Winter pruning is essential for the health and productivity of our trees. You’ll be working outdoors, helping to shape and maintain our apple trees to ensure a bountiful harvest in the coming season.

Key Responsibilities: - Pruning apple trees using hand tools and/or secateurs - Following pruning guidelines for different apple varieties - Working efficiently and safely in a team environment - Keeping warm and motivated in various weather conditions Pruning requires use of secateurs, loppers, and handsaws to remove branches that are old, rotten or don’t have many buds. You keep the best-looking spurs that will grow into large, juicy fruit.

- On-site training and supervision - Potential for ongoing seasonal work (e.g., thinning, harvest) If you enjoy working with nature, staying active, and being part of a down-to-earth team, we’d love to hear from you!
