Dairy Farm Assistant

A Tokoroa farm is seeking a Dairy Farm Assistant to join our team! This entry-level role is perfect for someone eager to learn and grow in a hands-on farming environment.

Key Responsibilities: Assist with feed planning and management as required. Help manage weeds, pests, and apply fertilizer. Implement irrigation requirements and maintain effective operation of all milking processes, including plant hygiene and somatic cell count management. Operate and maintain the farm's effluent system, ensuring compliance with regional council regulations and the employer's high standards. Maintain detailed records for effluent management. Support the animal health program, including calving, wintering, and calf rearing, to minimize losses and produce quality herd replacements. Maintain and update herd records, reporting any unwell animals. Work collaboratively with the Dairy Farm Manager to contribute to the Farm Business Plan. Assist in managing the repair and maintenance schedule for all farm equipment, machinery, and infrastructure.
